“Damnit, Saga!” Nao threw off the covers as he sat up to glare at the drunken bassist fumbling to climb onto his bed. Saga almost fell as he moved from the wooden chair he was sitting in as he stumbled towards Nao’s bed. “Stop being so loud. Please.” Nao said as continued to glare at him. It’s been hours since Saga got back from their mini celebration, and he’s still awake and bothering Nao to no end.

“What?” The bassist asked innocently, finding a more comfortable but rather awkward position on the bed. He struck a few more strings from the brand new guitar he was holding and began to play a rather familiar tune and began singing a few lines quite loudly.

Nao just groaned in annoyance as he buried his face in his hands.

Over the years that they have known each other, Nao had gotten used to Saga’s spontaneity. The bassist always found things to do, from his hair, to his clothes, to his music (offstage and onstage) just to name a few…and just when Nao thought that Saga’s done every possible thing, well, surprise! Saga would do something random again…like running in the rain just to buy the Starbucks coffee he mentioned during their break from practice or suddenly popping outside his doorstep at two in the morning, claiming that he doesn’t feel like sleeping in his bed so he wanted to sleep on the drummer’s bed…

Truth be told, though Nao scolds Saga about being so random sometimes, he finds those antics rather endearing –even cute- regardless of how dorky, silly or random it is. He figured that its just part of the bassist’s natural charm.

However, there are times when those antics annoy the hell out of him. Just like this night.

After a well-received live (their first in the area), the band decided to celebrate. It wasn’t new that everyone gets a little drunk sometimes, but it seemed like Saga had drank a little more alcohol than the rest.

“Nao-chaaan~” Saga purred as he draped an arm around the person sitting to his right. He pulled the figure closer to him and tried to snuggle up to him.

“Oi Saga!” Tora protested as he tried to pry off the bassist’s arm, which only resulted to Saga hugging him even tighter and earned some laughter from Hiroto and Shou. “I’m not your Nao-chan!” Tora successfully pried off the arm this time.

Saga looked up at Tora, tilted his head and blinked a few times. “Sorry Tora.” He hiccupped then giggled. He then turned to his left and hugged the person sitting there. “Naoooo~” he attempted to kiss the other’s cheek.

“Saga!” It was Shou protesting this time. “Leave Hiroto alone…” he muttered as he freed a wriggling Hiroto from Saga’s grasp.

The shorter guitarist chuckled before gently smacking the bassist’s back. “Nao-san said he’s really tired so he had to leave early, remember?” he reminded the other man.

Saga frowned slightly, and then nodded after a few seconds, before grabbing another beer bottle from the table. As if nothing happened, he raised his bottle again. “Cheers!”

An hour and more beer bottles later, the group’s finally on their way back to the hotel. Almost automatically, Hiroto latched on to Shou, giggling and murmuring on the way, leaving Tora to help a rather uncoordinated Saga stay on his feet as they made their way back.

“I don’t know myself, I’ll fed up, you’ll fed up with me!” Saga sang loudly, earning a few curious stares from the people passing by. “Can’t you hear my voice like a crying of baby, I’m calling you…!” He continued to sing loudly and enthusiastically.

“We hear your voice!” Shou answered back, laughing.

“And you’re off-key!” Hiroto added jokingly as he paused to look back on Tora and Saga.

“Am not!” Saga retorted. “I’ll show you.” He hiccupped before singing again, but was cut off when a hand clamped over his mouth.

“Shhhh!” Tora hissed. “People are looking.” He motioned to the other people staring at their direction.

No one understood what Saga was whining about as they resumed their walk back to the hotel.
 

They were just a block away from the hotel when Tora finally removed his hand from Saga’s mouth. Saga huffed indignantly at the guitarist but continued walking. Saga’s eyes roamed the area, taking in whatever his slightly blurred vision can take in. There were bright signs, people walking, and…

He pulled away from Tora and sauntered over to one of the shops. He half-crouched and peered outside the shop’s window.

His eyes widened and he couldn’t help but smile.

“Saga-kun?” Hiroto asked as they followed him and peered at the window too. Saga just grinned as he clumsily stood up and entered the shop, determined to buy the object on display in the window.

Saga shifted to a more comfortable position in Nao’s bed. “I promise you…” he plucked a few strings. “I won’t be off-key.” He winked at Nao and started playing a song Nao knew, but he couldn’t remember the title as of the moment.

Nao covered his ears to block out the rather offending tune. “You’re not off-key.” He said firmly. “So please stop playing and let me sleep!” He complained- almost screamed- at the bassist but Saga ignored him and continued playing.

Nao cringed slightly. “You’ll wake the other people in the hotel if you don’t stop!” Nao warned him.

Saga paused his playing and beamed at him. “That…would be…good…then they’ll…find out who …” he hiccupped in between the lines. “…the real rock star is!” he finished rather proudly. He resumed playing, much to Nao’s annoyance.

Nao’s patience was wearing thin. Usually, he would keep up with Saga’s antics, but he just didn’t have the energy to do so at the moment. He looked around, hoping to find something that could shut the bassist up. He momentarily considered throwing the nearby flower vase but didn’t. They’re in the middle of the tour and he wouldn’t want to injure him. They wouldn’t have enough time to find a replacement before the next live, he thought.

Sighing, Nao crawled over to Saga and placed his hand over Saga’s hand that’s on the guitar’s neck. The younger man looked at him, slightly wondering.

“Ahhh…” he leaned a little towards the drummer. “You don’t like the song I’m playing?” he asked, his voice a little softer. Nao’s eyes widened a little. His point clearly didn’t get through the bassist. “So, what do you want to hear?” Saga asked eagerly. “Is it a gundam--” but Nao cut him off.

“Saga, I’m really tired right now. Let’s do this another time, okay?” Nao almost pleaded. He gently squeezed Saga’s hand. They stared at each other. Saga smiled, a little defeated, before gently placing down the guitar.

“Hai, Hai.” There was a slight edge of disappointment in Saga’s voice. He uncrossed his legs and let it hang on the side of the bed. He stood up, wobbling. Nao immediately stood up and wrapped an arm around the bassist’s torso, steadying him, and helped him to his bed.

Nao got up and walked over to Saga’s things, pulled out a clean shirt and then returned to the bed. “Off.” He gently said as he sat down on the other side. He looked at the bassist then motioned to the shirt in his hands. Saga took off his shirt and allowed Nao to put the clean shirt on him. “Go to sleep now, okay?” Nao’s voice was much softer now. “I don’t want you to pass out during the live tomorrow.” He fondly ruffled his hair.

Saga refused to meet Nao’s eyes. “It always worked in the movies…” he half-sulked.

Nao moved a little so he’s face to face with the bassist. “What work—“ Nao yelped in surprise as Saga tackled him to the bed. He then rolled to the side before wrapping his arms around the drummer and held him close. Nao felt his face heat up.

“I just want to sing my heart out to Nao-kun,” Saga whispered. Nao shivered inwardly as he felt Saga’s breath on his ear. He’s just glad that he’s facing the other side so that the other man can’t see how much he’s blushing right now. “But my voice can’t reach Nao-kun’s heart.” Saga finished rather sadly, resting his chin on the other’s shoulder and squeezing him a little tighter.

Nao immediately regretted how harsh he was towards Saga moments ago. He pieced together the song the bassist was singing and he felt his heart leap. It made him happy, now that he understood what the other was trying to do for the past hours.

“Saga, sing that again for me.” Nao then hummed the tune of the song. Though Nao couldn’t see it, Saga smiled and began singing the song softly in Nao’s ear. Nao stopped humming and closed his eyes as he listened.

“I liked that much better.” Nao murmured when Saga finished. “Thank you.” Saga was sure Nao was smiling as he said that.

Saga gently kissed Nao’s head as he cuddled up to him. “Goodnight Nao-kun.”

“Goodnight Saga.” And they both closed their eyes and allowed sleep to wash over them.

This is actually the first fic I’ve written for this challenge, but I had a hard time finding a song that I think Saga would actually sing so it took a while to finish. XD I considered using Gundam theme songs, L’arc-en-ciel and Gackt songs too, but then I came across this one from Luna Sea. It’s called “Forever and Ever”. I got the translations from a site somewhere in the net. Can't remember though, sorry. [insert links] I also used Alice Nine’s “Q”, but you know that already. :D

Last thing, I'll try to fix the font when I finally have an internet connection at home. It's kinda hard to fix it here in the netcafe. Sorry.
